“Jacob Gutierrez was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He grew up very close to family and they remain his biggest influence. Jacob graduated from the University of New Mexico with degrees in both Art Studio and Chicana & Chicano Studies. He initially went to school to study Astrophysics, but felt more grounded making art of his family. He chose a path where he could combine art and love of his culture. On this path he’s also picked up skills in both woodcarving and tinwork. Jacob has been a part of group shows, artist talks, and even a solo show. He is also a printmaking teacher and likes to work with the community as much as possible.”
