New Mexico PBS is Proud to Support Students
New Mexico PBS routinely hires student employees for various production and studio positions. Student workers serve many needs at New Mexico PBS including Production, Post-Production, Communications, Education & Member Services. Students often come from the Media Arts and Communications Departments at UNM.
New Mexico PBS also mentors student interns seeking credit for production or station work, and high school students through the APS Mentorship Program.
New Mexico Local News UNM Fellow
Bryce Dix, a 2020 UNM graduate, spent nearly two years as a reporter and host at KUNM and served as student editor of The New Mexico News Port before he was placed as a fellow with KNME-TV, New Mexico PBS. “No one could have foreseen the COVID-19 pandemic, but a fellowship through the New Mexico Local News Fund gave me the opportunity to do crucial reporting when New Mexicans needed it most,” Dix said. “Bryce has hit the ground running here at New Mexico PBS,” said executive producer Kevin McDonald. “He’s worked on our collaborative podcast project and produced several segments for New Mexico in Focus. He has tremendous journalistic instincts and is hungry to learn more about all aspects of television production.”
