Bryan Konefsky, Porter Swentzell and Daryl Lucero, “We Are This City”

Air Date Saturday June 30 at 4pm on 5.1

BRYAN KONEFSKY
Hollywood screenwriter Matthew McDuffie interviews founder and director of Experiments in Cinema Bryan Konefsky.

Matthew: "What makes a film experimental?"

Bryan: "I think at the heart of experimental film is a profound sense of curiosity. Think about a scientist who has a hypothesis: 'What might happen if?' And an artist who experiments with cinematic form does some of the same: 'What might happen if?'"

PORTER SWENTZELL & DARYL LUCERO
Santa Clara artist and educator Porter Swentzell and Isleta artist Daryl Lucero discuss how art making can bring ecological awareness.

“One of the things that’s really important to me in traditional arts is reestablishing that relationship with where the materials you need to make what you need to make, come from.”

"WE ARE THIS CITY"
Using lots of paint and fun, “We Are This City” uses the creative experience to bring Albuquerque’s community together.

“Fun, what I found, breaks down boundaries. When you’re having fun with someone you’re not thinking about your differences.”
