Web Designer, Sr.

Position Summary:
Develops the overall design structure of the NMPBS web site, maintains, and updates web pages with current content. Participates in developing a strategic plan for the NMPBS web site to include goals, internal policies, standards, and procedures. There is currently over 150 web pages included in the website. Assess new standards, technologies, and trend, ensures website is accessible from a variety of different platforms. Troubleshoot or repair website in the event of failure, design layouts for updated content, and ensures the site maintains a high level of functionality and usability. Coordinates and understands a comprehensive range of web programming software and authoring languages, ensure content is delivered at a sufficiently high level of speed and quality. Liaise with PBS Interactive for content. Represent station at national level PBS meetings, conduct conference presentations.

Preferred qualifications:
1. Familiarity with PBS-specific authoring languages such as MERLIN, BENTO and COVE.

2. Experience testing website functionality across multiple platforms (PC, Mac, mobile, tablet).

3. Experience developing standard operating procedures for website maintenance and content change management.

4. Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues at a national level in order to share best practices and remain current with PBS content and strategies.

5. Client-centered approach to website development which can include providing and receiving constructive feedback.

6. Ability to successfully manage several projects with varying degrees of priority simultaneously.

7. Familiarity or willingness to obtain familiarity with commonly accepted standards in the journalism and broadcast industry.

Office Assistant

Position Summary
New Mexico PBS is seeking a student to perform a variety of office support and administrative duties at New Mexico PBS' front reception desk and other departments as needed. These duties will include resolving and routing telephone calls, walk-in inquiries, scheduling main conference room, sorting and distributing mail to various departments within KNME and taking various documents to main campus/business center and other destinations on an as needed basis.
