Governor and Legislative Panel Each Reveal Budgets | The Line

1328 Line Budget Plans

January 10, 2020 – Matt Grubs (filling in this week for Gene Grant) and The Line opinion panel examine Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s budget plan for the fiscal year that starts in July. She unveiled the proposal this week, as did the Legislative Finance Committee with a slightly smaller budget plan. The 30-day legislative session begins January 21.

July 26, 2019 – Predatory lending practices have been a problem in New Mexico for years, in part because of our high poverty rate. Now, some local governments are offering an alternative to payday loans. Host Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists discuss these programs, and whether or not they are a viable solution to helping employees avoid long-term debt.
