1337 Line Pre primary Results

March 13, 2020 Gene Grant and The Line opinion panel look at outcomes from both the Republican and Democratic pre-primary conventions held over the past weekend. Up north, Teresa Leger Fernandez claimed an early victory over a deep field of Democratic candidates for the 3rd Congressional District ballot order. In Southern New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, Republican Yvette Herrell doubled the totals of upstart opponent Claire Chase. The panel discusses surprises and expected outcomes, and debates how important a pre-primary is to an actual primary.

January 10, 2020 – This week saw the addition of two new Republican candidates into the race for retiring U.S. Sen. Tom Udall’s seat in New Mexico: businessman Louie Sanchez and former KRQE meteorologist Mark Ronchetti. NMiF senior producer Matt Grubs (subbing for Gene Grant) and The Line opinion panel examine the new energy in the Republican primary and whether Ben Ray Lujan will face a more robust challenge.
