Top Stories of 2020: #3 & #2

January 1, 2021 Coming in at number 3 on our countdown of the top stories of 2020 was the November general election. President-elect Joe Biden trounced Donald Trump in New Mexico, although Republicans did put the 2nd Congressional District back in their column. The Line panelists weigh in on the outcomes, as well as the record absentee turnout and Ben Ray Lujan’s defeat of TV weatherman Mark Ronchetti. They also dive into our number 2 story of the year, the surge of protests around racial inequity and our state’s controversial historical statues and monuments. (Note: our list of the top ten stories of 2020 is non-scientific and represents the thoughts of the New Mexico in Focus team, along with help and input from our panelists).
