Many New Mexicans have been asked if they need a passport to travel outside of the state. We know how to make fun of the fact that the state isn’t always labeled correctly in national media outlets. The New York Times Magazine recently ran artwork on the cover that mislabeled New Mexico as “Mexico.” Do we care?

The line panelists weigh in on this issue.

Did you or are you going to provide more information on reasons for pushback against the PARRC exam? Your panelists today did not have accurate facts and there was some obvious conflict of interest. Education is a crucial topic for our State right now. I hope you provide more information and do some research that follows the money and the agenda of our current Chief of Education. What is her track record with Florida? What Boards does she sit on? What has she done to improve schools to help them pass this more rigorous test? What happens if NM schools fail? How many educational dollars have left this State? Why do you think teachers are leaving the profession? Who pays the price for this test if it is a mistake? Are we willing to allow this to happen to our kids if we aren’t 100 percent it is in their best interest? Please provide more information.
