October 18, 2019 – Searchlight New Mexico reporter Ed Williams released an investigative story tracking the use of controversial restraint techniques on special education students at Albuquerque Public Schools. The article points out a discrepancy between the actual use of such methods and what is disclosed in federal reports. Gene Grant and The Line opinion panel discuss the use of restraint and seclusion practices and how best to protect some students from themselves and others while still being transparent about the process.
