UNM Athletics Lack of Title IX Compliance, The Line

This week on New Mexico in Focus, correspondent Khalil Ekulona leads a discussion about the lack of Title IX compliance in the UNM Athletic department. Title IX requires that people have equal access to education and programs at universities that receive federal funds. A report released earlier this year identified several potential areas for reform at UNM. We’ll dig in to what this means and how the report influenced the UNM Regents’ decision to cut four sports last month.

And Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists discuss a policy that allows the Santa Fe jail to release prisoners at night and far away from the city. They also look at a lawsuit filed by NMPolitics.net over records at the Spaceport and debate whether all New Mexicans should have the option to buy in to Medicaid.
