The Line: Toxic Spill in the Animas River

August 14, 2015 – A spill at the Gold King Mine in Colorado turned the Animas River deep yellow this week. Governor Susana Martinez declared a state of emergency. Farmers and ranchers are trying to keep their crops and animals alive while the river is closed.

Host Gene Grant and the line opinion panelists talk about who should take the blame and what should be done next to address abandoned mines in the western United States.
