The Line: Top Stories of 2018 (Numbers 8 & 7)

December 21, 2018 – Host Gene Grant and our all-journalist Line opinion panel continue to count down the top stories of 2018. In this segment, they begin with reflections on the 8th biggest story, the end of the Entrada Pageant in Santa Fe, at least as the community had come to know it. The Entrada was part of the annual Fiesta de Santa Fe celebrations. It depicted the 1692 Spanish reoccupation of the city, twelve years after the Pueblo Revolt of 1680. Community leaders, tribal representatives and the Catholic Church are still working on ideas to change and adapt the event to celebrate the city’s multi-cultural history. And, coming in at number 7 on this year’s countdown is the legacy of Susana Martinez, who leaves office in just a matter of days. Panelists discuss the pivotal moments in her tenure, as well as the highlights and lowlights on her 8 years in office.

Line Panelists:
Inez Russell Gomez, editorial page editor, Santa Fe New Mexican
Mary Hudetz, reporter, Associated Press
Andy Lyman, reporter, New Mexico Political Report
Jeff Proctor, reporter, Santa Fe Reporter and New Mexico in Depth
