The Line: Senate Race Heats Up Among Democratic Candidates

October 11, 2019 – The election may be more than a year away, but the race to replace Senator Tom Udall is heating up. That is especially true for the democratic candidates, current U.S. Representative Ben Ray Lujan and Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver. This week, Lujan announced he had raised more than a million dollars during the last fundraising period. That disclosure came before the filing deadline even arrived. Host Gene Grant and The Line opinion panelists discuss the money race, and the apparent split between the progressive and more moderate wings of the state democratic party.

Line Panelists:
Dan Foley, former NM state representative
Inez Russell Gomez, editorial page editor, The Santa Fe New Mexican
Andy Lyman, reporter, NM political report
Sophie Martin, attorney
