June 22, 2018 – Local media reported this week that Moody’s Investor Services had downgraded the state’s bond rating. A report in the Albuquerque Journal indicated workers in New Mexico are making less than the national average in many instances. And this week, Albuquerque agreed to give Topgolf roughly 2 ½ million in incentives, and only minor clawbacks, to build an entertainment complex in the city –  despite Mayor Keller’s veto, which the council overrode.. Are local and state governments doing the right things to turn around our economy? Gene Grant and the Line opinion panel ponder the question and come up with some answers.
