The Line: PED Plans To Appeal Education Lawsuit Decision

August 3, 2018 –  New Mexico’s Public Education Department said it will appeal a ruling, handed down in July, that New Mexico is not adequately funding schools and meeting the needs of all students. Advocates of the ruling, including Santa Fe Public Schools Superintendent Veronica Garcia, have urged the PED not to appeal and to get started on creating a plan to address the issue.  Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists debate the ruling and the potential appeal.
