The Line: NM’s Public Education Department And Failing Schools

May 25, 2018 – New Mexico’s Public Education Department believes it knows the best way to fix four struggling elementary schools, three of which are in the APS district. But the Legislative Education Study Committee says the PED may not legally have the final say on any intervention plans. Is this actually a problem with the legislature and unclear state laws? Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists debate the issue and discuss options for addressing concerns in some schools.
