The Line: New Mexico’s Gubernatorial Race

May 25, 2018 – Primary elections in New Mexico take place on June 5. There are three Democratic candidates running for the nomination for governor: businessman Jeff Apodaca, state legislator Joseph Cervantes and Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham, who is giving up her first congressional district seat to run for the state’s highest office. Representative Steve Pearce, who is giving up his seat in the second congressional district, is the only Republican candidate. Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists look at tactics being used on the campaign trail and offer some predictions for how the races will play out.
