The Line: New Mexico’s Economy Still Suffers Post Recession Woes

February 9, 2018 – New Mexico’s economy was doing pretty well in 2006. Then the Great Recession hit in December of 2007 and the state’s economy has yet to recover. New Mexico is in a pattern of boom and bust cycles, largely because of its reliance on the oil and gas industry. Economists say something different must be done to break that cycle. Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists debate possible solutions.
