The Line: Monitoring Prescription Pain Medicine

August 9, 2019 – Gene Grant and The Line opinion panelists examine the disproportionately high rate of opioids dispensed by one drugstore in Española from 2006 to 2012.  Opioid prescription rates have dropped since then, but The Line questions whether red flags should have been raised sooner, the state’s efforts to control prescription pain medicine, and whether someone should ultimately be held accountable.

Line Panelists:
Lonna Atkeson, UNM Political Science professor
Eric Griego, former NM state senator
Sophie Martin, attorney
Kristelle Siarza, CEO, Siarza Social Digital
