The Line: Legislative Session Off And Running

January 25, 2019 – A fast pace is setting the tone for the first full week of New Mexico’s legislative session.  But, not everyone is onboard with the “rocket docket” strategy of streamlining some bills, arguing a lack of transparency, among other objections. Speaker of the House Brian Egolf also says that this year they plan to scale back on things like memorials, in favor of binding legislation and budget decisions.  Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists discuss these developments and also look at Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s possible use of executive orders like her decision to end the controversial PARCC test.
