The Line: Governor’s Vetoes Lead To New Debate Over State Budget

April 14, 2017 – Governor Susana Martinez vetoed more than half of the bills passed in this year’s 60-day legislative session. The governor also vetoed all funding for higher education and the legislative branch in the state budget. She is expected to call lawmakers back to Santa Fe for a special session. This week, host Gene Grant leads a discussion with our Line opinion panelists about vetoed bills and what’s ahead in future debate over the state budget.
