The Line: Governor’s Order Waives Need For Some Licenses

October 12, 2018 – Governor Susana Martinez signed an executive order last week that would allow professionals in certain occupations to practice without a state license if they have consumer consent. The move is designed to make it easier for New Mexicans to find jobs, but some are concerned about safety standards.  Gene Grant and the Line panelists debate the balance of protecting citizens from fraud and unsafe practices against what some are lauding as necessary reforms.
