The Line: Governor Lujan Grisham Proposes Free College

September 20, 2019 – Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham announced this week that she plans to pitch lawmakers on a program for free tuition at the state’s colleges and universities. The governor says her Opportunity Scholarship plan would be a last-dollar funding source to make sure no qualifying New Mexico student – as well as some adults – will have to pay for a degree at two- and four-year schools run by the state.
