The Line: Dog Head Fire And Wildfire Dangers Ahead

June 24, 2016 – New Mexico has been smoky recently after a fire in Manzano Mountains grew quickly and and burned over 17,000 acres.

The Dog Head Fire started on June 14 and has forced evacuations in the area. The hot and dry weather in recent weeks created additional challenges for fire crews.  The National Weather Service predicts that New Mexico will continue to experience moderate drought conditions in 2016.

The latest reports on the fire are available on a Facebook page and the NM Fire Info website.

How do you think the state, federal government and citizens are better prepared to wildfires that could spark up at any time?
