The Line: Corruption Trial for Former Senator Phil Griego Begins

November 3, 2017 – Former New Mexico Senator Phil Griego is facing six felony and two misdemeanor charges in a corruption trial that started this week.  The criminal charges escalated from an ethics complaint that accused then-senator Griego of prepping the legislature to pass a resolution that allowed for a property sale which netted him a $50,000 profit. Does the trial signals a bigger shift in New Mexico politics than just a case against one former elected official? Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists discuss the angles.

Line Panelists:
Tom Garrity, the Garrity Group PR
Viki Harrison, Common Cause New Mexico
Serge Martinez, professor, UNM School of Law
Diane Snyder, Former State Senator
