The Line: City Councilors Express Concerns About Reverse Sting Operations (Web Extra)

June 3, 2016 – Several Albuquerque city councilors voiced concerns recently after news broke that the Albuquerque Police Department was selling drugs to people in undercover sting operations.

Mayor Richard Berry has said that he will not stop the department and that statement garnished harsh remarks from the city council.

Many city councilors said that they feared that the operation would target the homeless, those in low-income neighborhoods and those struggling with addiction in the community.
