The Line: Charter Schools Complain of Unfair Treatment

June 17, 2016 – The State Coalition for Charter Schools is claiming that the State’s Public Education Department of favoritism in a letter sent to the Public Education Commission.

In the letter, NMCCS even lays the blame on PED’s Charter School District director Katie Poulos.

NM Political Report obtained the letter that NMCCS sent to the PEC. “the relationship between CSD and charter schools appears to have deteriorated significantly over the past year and in numerous cases it appears to be broken. The current director is micromanaging oversight rather than evaluating outcome and looking for ways to assists charters,” said NMCCS.
