The Line: April 10, 2015

This week, our line opinion panelists discussed protests at the Trinity Test Site. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the atomic bomb test near Alamogordo, New Mexico. Nearby residents want the federal government to study the impact of the test on the health of people who lived near the test site and their descendants.

The line discussed the search for a new superintendent for the Albuquerque Public Schools. The names of the six semifinalists were made public and some think that kept some qualified candidates from applying for the position to lead New Mexico’s largest school district.

The line also debated the significance of a story from KOAT that 10 percent of jobs with the city of Albuquerque are currently vacant.
