The Line: All 15 Behavioral Health Providers Cleared of Fraud

April 8, 2016 – An almost three-year investigation ended when Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that the last two of fifteen behavioral health providers had been cleared of Medicaid fraud. The AG’s office found some regulatory violations, but no evidence of criminal activity in any of the providers – yet many of them went out of business under the allegations. In hindsight, was there a better way to handle the situation? The Line panelists discuss the continuing fall-out over New Mexico’s behavioral health shake-up.
