TEDxABQ Conference, The Garrity Group Public Relations Survey Findings, Same-Sex Marriage in NM

This week on NEW MEXICO IN FOCUS, a look at the TEDxABQ, coming up on September 7 with event curator, Tim Nisly, and two of this year’s speakers, Eliseo Torres and Barbara Jennings. Torres is a world-renowned Mexican folk healer who teaches people the lore and methods of traditional curanderos. Jennings is a research engineer at Sandia National Laboratories who is exploring how cell phones and other mobile devices are affecting our brains.

Which people and institutions do New Mexicans trust? Where do they get their news and information? Why do they say they shop local, but buy at chain stores? Tom Garrity of The Garrity Group Public Relations discusses the findings of his firm’s annual perception survey.

The Line opinion panel looks at the rapidly evolving issue of same-sex marriage in New Mexico after county clerks began issuing licenses to couples.

The Line also discusses what may happen with the audit over behavioral health providers, now that several media organizations are suing the state to get copies of the document, and some legislators are calling for a special session on the issue.
