Because of this, businesses have been downsizing or closing, laying off employees, and dealing with the inability to pay rent or utilities. Gene Grant and The Line opinion panel talk about the effects of COVID-19 prevention on businesses statewide and look at ways for the economy to bounce back in the future.

TheU.S. Justice Departmentreports that nearly 9 out of 10 incidents of family violence happen in or near a residence and most spousal violence happens in a victim’s home. How are agencies around the state grappling with remote work and social distancing while also helping victims escape violent situations? And are there new ways to reach victims who might not be able to ask for help?
