The Line: Santa Feans Vote No on Soda Tax and Governor Martinez Wants Tax Reform

NMiF: Tax Redux

May 5, 2017 – A record number of Santa Fe voters soundly rejected a proposed tax on sugar-sweetened beverages.  With the defeat of the two-cent-per-ounce tax, the city must look to other ways to fund early childhood education programs.  And Governor Susana Martinez plans to reintroduce a tax overhaul bill when she schedules the special session she has pledged to call.
