NMiF: Texas shooting

November 10, 2017 – The mass shooting at a church in central Texas has sparked conversations across the country about how to address warning signs that someone might commit an act of violence. The shooter, Devin Patrick Kelley, was once stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. In 2014 he was given a “bad conduct” or “punitive” discharge for committing domestic violence. According to federal law, Kelley should not have been allowed to purchase guns because of his domestic violence conviction.

Host Gene Grant and this week’s Line opinion panelists discuss the broader impact of the shooting and how current gun laws address domestic violence.
