Raising Awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in New Mexico

July 26, 2019 – Family members and advocates of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls (MMIW) are striving to keep the issue in the public and before policy makers.  A lack of data is a major challenge in addressing the issue, but recent research has shown New Mexico has the highest number of MMIW cases in the country. Advocates are working on various levels to address the issue in New Mexico.
