The Line: Michelle Lujan Grisham Backs Off Co-pays And Premiums For Medicaid

February 22, 2019 – Saying in a press release, “I have no intention of implementing policies that put a financial strain on low-income New Mexicans…,” Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced that her administration would appeal to the federal government to stop a plan to make Medicaid enrollees pay monthly premiums and co-pays. Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists debate the pros and cons of this course of action.

August 10, 2018 – Local media reported this week that a movement to open up Medicaid enrollment to more people is gaining traction. The proposal would make the program available to people who make too much to qualify for health insurance subsidies and people who are undocumented.
