1323 Line APD Crime Stats

December 6, 2019 – The Albuquerque Journal discovered some significant flaws in the mid-year crime statistics that APD and Mayor Tim Keller glowingly announced on July first. Gene Grant and The Line opinion panelists look at new numbers that show crime statistics have not decreased nearly as much as originally reported.

The Effect of Violence on Youth

November 8, 2019 – New Mexico in Focus takes a hard look at crime’s effect on young people with Albuquerque filmmaker John Acosta, whose documentary Growing Up in the Real Breaking Bad aims to raise awareness about youth violence. NMiF host Gene Grant interviews Acosta, who is joined by a group of young activists who say policymakers need to listen and try a different approach to addressing the problem. 

*Note: Working Classroom and SWOP will hold a screening and public discussion on the issue of youth violence on Saturday, November 23rd, 6-7:30pm (updated). The event will be held at Working Classroom: 423 Atlantic Ave. SW)
