SOS Proposes Changes In Campaign Finance Reporting

June 30, 2017 – Many New Mexicans are frustrated by the feeling that there are unknown forces trying to influence the way they vote and the way their elected officials act—and it all comes down to money. In June, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver announced she wants to implement a set of new rules about campaign finance. Correspondent Gwyneth Doland sat down with Toulouse Oliver to talk about what these changes could mean for candidates, elected officials, nonprofit organizations—and you.

Written comments must be received no later than 5:00 pm on the Tuesday prior to the first public hearing. However, the submission of written comments as soon as possible is encouraged.  Persons may also submit written comments at any of the public hearings.
