Primary Candidate Field Starts to Organize | The Line

March 13, 2020 – Gene Grant and The Line opinion panel look at outcomes from both the Republican and Democratic pre-primary conventions held over the past weekend. Up north, Teresa Leger Fernandez claimed an early victory over a deep field of Democratic candidates for the 3rd Congressional District ballot order. In Southern New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, Republican Yvette Herrell doubled the totals of upstart opponent Claire Chase. The panel discusses surprises and expected outcomes, and debates how important a pre-primary is to an actual primary.
