Poet Laureate Joy Harjo Reading: For Those Who Would Govern


November 27, 2020 – National Poet Laureate Joy Harjo discusses and reads her poem “For Those Who Would Govern” at an event in the fall of 2019 at the Institute of American Indian Arts. Harjo is the nation’s first-ever native American Poet Laureate. And just this month, she was appointed by the Library of Congress to a third term beginning in September 2021. Harjo is only the second poet to be honored with a third term.
