October 26, 2018 ā€“ The oil boom in southern New Mexico means more jobs in Carlsbad, but longtime residents and new arrivals are all finding it tough to find a place to live. The cost of both homes and rentals has gone up in recent years. And many local leaders report that there just arenā€™t enough places to house the current population. In part two of our series on housing in Carlsbad, produced with the Carlsbad Current-Argus, Sarah Gustavus looks at how the housing shortage has impacted two young professionals.
