Health Insurance, Education and Entrepreneurship, Violence in NM

This week on New Mexico in Focus, we look at health insurance. Open enrollment for 2016 began this week. New Mexico Health Connections, a nonprofit startup, stands ready to offer insurance to anyone looking for coverage through the New Mexico Health Exchange. NMiF producer Sarah Gustavus sits down with the head of the company to hear what’s different about its company model.

Leaders from UNM and CNM talk about education and entrepreneurship and tell us why the best time to look for opportunities to start a business or other new venture might be in the classroom.

Host Gene Grant and this week’s Line opinion panelists weigh in on efforts to promote entrepreneurship in our state. They also discuss how violence in New Mexico is impacting families and communities and what can be done to address the problem.
