NM Election 2026: The Governor’s Race

This week on New Mexico in Focus, we begin our election coverage with the biggest contest of the season in our state: the race for governor. Democrat Deb Haaland -— a former congresswoman and interior secretary — and Republican Gregg Hull — a former three-term mayor of Rio Rancho —are vying to replace Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, who is termed out at the end of the year. Host Nash Jones sat down with Haaland and Hull for one-on-one interviews, exploring some of the biggest issues facing the state: education, healthcare, energy, affordability, data centers and more.
