My Voice: The Student Perspective

June 21, 2018 – Lawmakers and community leaders across New Mexico have debated for decades about how to improve educational outcomes in our state. But how often do adults bring in students to talk about what they see and how they would change the education system?

New Mexico PBS teamed up with KUNM and Generation Justice to conduct listening sessions (link to doc on “listening sessions”) with students about their experiences in education and the ideas they would like to see explored to improve experiences in the classroom.

In August 2017, Generation Justice led listening sessions with students from schools across Albuquerque at the YES conference in Albuquerque.
