Monument Destroyed, but Controversy Not Gone

October 23, 2020 – Gene Grant and The Line opinion panelists look at more fallout over last week’s destruction of a monument on the Santa Fe Plaza. The toppling of the controversial obelisk left the city divided; many had been calling for its removal, while others wanted it left alone. Mayor Alan Webber now says he realizes he waited too long to form the truth and reconciliation committee he promised in June, but that now he will be moving ahead with its formation. The Line talks about what might replace the now-destroyed monument.

Host: Gene Grant

Line Panelists:
Serge Martinez, professor, UNM School of Law
H. Diane Snyder, former state senator
TJ Trout, radio personality, 770 KKOB
