Looking Ahead to the 2022 Governor’s Race


April 23, 2021 – New Mexico’s next gubernatorial election is a year and a half away – not a long time when it comes to political campaigning. The New Mexico GOP is looking to unseat Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. Last weekend, Sandoval County Commissioner Jay Block was the first Republican to publicly announce his candidacy; GOP candidate Karen Bedonie joined the race this week. The Line opinion panel looks at the race that will try to unseat New Mexico’s current governor in 2022.
