Legislative Contests in New Mexico

November 6, 2020 – Gene Grant and The Line opinion panelists focus on important 2020 legislative contests. With progressives now holding key Democratic seats, the Senate may look more favorably on recreational cannabis bills and efforts to repeal a currently unenforceable law that criminalizes abortion. The Line also looks at what having Democratic majorities in both legislative chambers and the governor’s office means for upcoming redistricting.
