Violence in Orlando, Jobs for Veterans, The Line

This week on New Mexico in Focus, Gwyneth Doland talks with UNM political science professor and former CIA officer Dr. Emile Nakhleh, an expert on political Islam, including radicalization and terrorism. They will address the massacre in Orlando, the changing nature of terrorism in the United States, and what our government can do to prevent such acts of violence.

Also on the program, series producer Sarah Gustavus looks at how some local programs are helping veterans re-integrate into civilian life while also searching for work. Her guests are Terry Armstrong, of Goodwill Industries of New Mexico, Richard Coffel, of the New Mexico Veterans Business Outreach Center, and Chris Zafra, of the Veterans Section of New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions.

And host Gene Grant and the Line opinion panelists will discuss local reactions to the deadly shooting at Orlando’s gay nightclub Pulse, and debate other stories in the news this week.
