Haaland, Hull Win Nominations for Governor

This week on New Mexico in Focus, we run through the results of June’s primary election as Deb Haaland and Gregg Hull advance in the governor’s race. Host Nash Jones sits down with Dede Feldman, a Democratic former state senator, and Merritt Allen, a former Republican candidate, to discuss how Haaland and Hull secured their nominations in the race. Later, Feldman and Allen weigh in on the down-ballot results.

A 13-year legal fight over water rights and access to the Lower Rio Grande has finally come to a close. It’s an important and complicated water story— one reporter Danielle Prokop has followed for years. Prokop recently stopped by the studio to help us understand the newly approved settlement and what it means for the river and New Mexico farmers.

For the latest installment of Indigenously Positive, our collaboration with nonprofit newsroom New Mexico In Depth, correspondent Bella Davis and Benjamin Yazza, who produces and directs the series, take us to the Los Altos Skate Park in Albuquerque to learn how Native skaters are using their love for skating to enrich their mental wellness and nurture their communities.
