Early voting has begun in the special election to fill Deb Haaland’s seat in the 1st Congressional District, and the candidates have begun a series of debates on local commercial TV stations. NMiF Senior Producer Matt Grubs digs into a lengthy interview with Republican state Sen. Mark Moores.

As Albuquerque has grown more Democratic, he’s hung onto his Northeast Heights district. Moores owns a medical testing lab, but he’s been in politics for decades, serving as chief of staff to former Lieutenant Gov. Walter Bradley.
