In 2017, New Mexico in Focus will examine proposals to address ethics oversight, transparency and accountability in state government during the legislative session.

This is the third year for the People, Power and Democracy project. NMPBS will team up again with KUNM, New Mexico in Depth and the New Mexico News Port to explore how these issues impact everyday New Mexicans.

March 31, 2017 - Lawyers for the Santa Fe Reporter and Governor Susana Martinez squared off in court this week. SFR alleges in a lawsuit that the Martinez administration repeatedly violated the state Inspection of Public Records ACT (IPRA) and treated the paper differently than other news outlets. Host Gene Grant and our Line opinion panelists share their thoughts on the significance of the case and the public's right to know what's happening in state and national government.
